Let me introduce you to Abby Mason. This hard-working staffer was born in Lucedale Mississippi and moved to Mobile as a small child. After graduating from the University of South Alabama, with an accounting degree, she continued her career with the Mobile County District Attorney’s office. She has worked for MCDA for the past 16 years, and has enjoyed every minute of it.
Her current position is in one of the only civil departments we have, Forfeitures. As a Forfeiture Clerk, Abby works with narcotic officers, while assisting them to file complaints against currency, property, weapons, and vehicles to have them condemned to their corresponding agencies. This position is a perfect fit because she is able to interact with law enforcement daily. She has an appreciation for the job that they do and enjoys participating in numerous functions each year such as the “National Night Out” and the monthly meetings of the Optimist Club where they recognize the Officer, Deputy, and Correctional Officer of the month.
Abby strives to give 100 percent to her job, family, and church. She is very passionate about her vocation and prides herself in a job well done. She enjoys working for District Attorney Ashley Rich because, “Ashley Rich is willing to go to bat for her employees just as hard as she works to seek justice for victims.” The key to her positivity and success is that she owns her personal drive, but still enjoys life after work. Outside of the office, she participates in local charity events and even judges pageants. Her dream vacation awaits in the Maldives! If your lucky you might receive a handmade blanket seeing as her secret hobby is crocheting. The three most important things in her life are her salvation, family, and friends!
