Deonte Moorer appeared in court today for sentencing on two charges: the MURDER of Cedric Hollinger and discharging a gun into an occupied dwelling. The defendant was tried in ABSENTIA on September 11, 2018 and a jury found him guilty on both counts.
Assistant District Attorney ChaLea Tisdale presented a heart wrenching statement from the victim’s family which expressed their need for justice and closure from this senseless tragedy.
The defendant’s list of offenses committed prior to these charges are extensive and include a plethora of violent crimes.
The State recommended a sentence of LIFE due to the fact that the defendant has exhibited repetitive and extremely violent behaviors, which make him a danger to the community.
After listening to testimony presented by the State, Judge Smith sentenced the defendant to 20 years for shooting into an occupied dwelling and LIFE for the intentional MURDER of Cedric Hollinger.
