MCDA’s staff spotlight this month is Trial Coordinator Danielle Ellis. Danielle was born and raised right here in Mobile, Alabama and she loves going to the beach, being out on the water, and working out. Danielle also enjoys spending time with her amazing boyfriend, her two wonderful teenagers, and her dog Dart! She has worked for our office for over three years and is currently the Team Leader for our District Court Trial Coordinators!
What is the most rewarding thing about your job?
The most rewarding thing about my job is being able to help victims of crime and seeing the person who has caused them harm be prosecuted.
How do you stay positive at work?
I stay positive at work because of my fantastic coworkers. They are like family and if I am ever having a rough day I always find one of them to make me laugh.
What advice would you have for someone beginning a career in the criminal justice system?
Stay open-minded and don’t let the job consume you.
What is the key to balancing a healthy professional and personal life?
The key to balancing a healthy lifestyle is to leave work at work and not bring it home. Go home to your family and forget about anything negative that may have happened during the day.
Has there been anyone in your life that has influenced you personally or professionally?
My mom. She always taught me to not depend on anyone and if you want something you have to work for it.
What is the most important thing in your life?
The most important things in my life are my kids and my family. They keep me going when days are rough!
