Congratulations to MCDA’s Officer of the Month Michael Anderson. Officer Anderson graduated from the Mobile Police Academy in 2017, and has been with the Mobile Police Department ever since. He currently works on a four-member Street Enforcement Team.
When Officer Anderson received this award he wanted to take a group photo with his team because without his team he would not be here. He takes great pride in his work and how his team members and himself do their jobs to the best of their ability. He described their team as a unit, “Our leader Seargent Hearn always pushes us to go the extra mile. Battiste is right there beside me and until we get a fourth Tillman is following right behind. We are a unit; a family.”
Officer Anderson has brought in 83 felony cases while being on the Street Enforcement Team, 62 of those felonies occurred in 2019, along with countless misdemeanors.
He wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement because he loves the spontaneity of it all. Not knowing what the day holds but also the immediate gratification of taking down a bad guy and seeing how that affects community right then and there. Thank you, Officer Anderson, for your service to this community! #BackTheBlue #OfficerOfTheMonth#ProtectAndServe 💙💙
