Mobile County currently has over $848,000 in unclaimed restitution owed to victims of crimes. We are looking for these individuals so they may be compensated for losses incurred due to a crime.
Restitution is a court-ordered remittance that a convicted offender pays to the victim as part of their sentence. Restitution can cover all of the following:
- lost or damaged property
- medical expenses
- prescription charges
- lost wages
- insurance deductibles
- counseling costs
- expenses that resulted directly from the crime
- court costs associated with the crime
Provided below is a list of victims who are currently owed restitution. If you or one of your family members is owed restitution the first step is to contact one of our Victim Services Officers.
